Mixed Media, Research
Residency Dates: April 2026
Studio H Canada is excited to welcome Myranda Storm, an emerging artist from Vancouver, BC Canada.
During this residency I will be creating original oil paintings for my new art collection, Plantlore. This collection will be on display for my solo show, Plantlore, in February 2027. The Plantlore art collection highlights the interplay between the practical uses of medicinal herbs and their supernatural associations. Each painting explores a single plant, telling narratives of herbal folk stories through whimsical imagery. These artworks invite us to connect the plants around us and reflect on our relationships with them. Creating this collection surrounded by the magical rainforests of Vancouver Island will allow me to focus and connect to my current body of work. I’m looking forward to being on a creative retreat at Studio H alongside other artists while enjoying this time dedicated to my art practice.
About the Artist
Myranda Storm is a mixed media artist from Vancouver B.C. She has a successful independent studio practice with over a decade of experience as an exhibitor with local galleries. Her art explores her relationship with the natural world. Myranda’s work is often influenced by her background in art history and her studies as a herbalist. While she works across media, natural pigment painting remains at the heart of her practice. Myranda has prioritized working with environmentally friendly media throughout her career. Her whimsical, detailed paintings blend together landscape, portraiture, wildlife and architecture. Myranda’s current body of work, the Plantlore collection, explores narratives of medicinal plants.
