Genevie Henderson – Artist in Residency, Canada

Painting

Residency Dates: May 4-31, 2025

Studio H Canada is thrilled to welcome returning artist Genevie Henderson, a visual artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We look forward to seeing Genevie’s new paintings – inspired by the garden and this area that evolve in the studio as finished works!

My distinctive signature style is distinguished by passionate colour
that in combination transforms my paintings into works with dazzling hues,
images and motifs. At this time, I am intrigued with exotic costume, kimonos and tapestry. My
paintings are recognizable through symbolism, stamping, markings, floating dots,
and patterns that evolve into very original personal abstractions. Look closely,
you may see the influence of Gustav Klimt who makes my artist’s heart sing.

Giving back to the community through creativity is important to me. My art is
making a difference. I am proud of the legacy of joy and beauty that I am creating
in today’s complex and complicated society. It is my hope that my unique,
intriguing paintings will speak to the souls and spirits of lovers of art.
My art is me; I am my art.

Her work has been juried into numerous art competitions and she has been awarded gold, silver and bronze awards. With her duo art partner of Colour Distinctive, Genevie accepted a prestigious People’s Choice Award for Colours on Corydon in 2015 for a large painted sculptural installation.
